George was the third generation of McDonalds to live at Marshall Mount, purchased by his great-grandfather in 1896.
George was actively involved in the community and elected trustee of the Albion Park Pioneer Cemetery and Marshall Mount Cemetery at Calderwood. He was a foundation member of the Marshall Mount Old Time Dance committee, dances being held in the school or the front lounge of Marshall Mount House prior to moving to the Hall.
George was a staunch supporter of the Tongarra Museum and a member of the Tongarra Heritage Society.DonorMcdonald, George
