BiographyFrank Smithers was an Alderman for Shellharbour City Council for 23 years, two terms of which he served as Deputy Mayor. He was instrumental in the foundation of the Albion Park swimming pool and the Shellharbour Public Hospital. Mr Smithers was a police officer for 35 years and also enlisted in the Australian Army in WWII. (Source NSW GNB)
