We have no shipping records for William and there are several reports as to when he arrived in the colony.
In William's obituary it states he arrived in 1855 at 25 years old. Other sources say he was 10 years old and came to Australia with his uncle Henry Osborne (his mother's brother).
William was, we believe, living in Dapto with Henry and met Margaret Dorrough in May 1857.
William and Margaret continued to live in Dapto until William purchased land at Foxground and they lived there for 15 years. During this time, two of his half-sisters, Elizabeth and Mary Ann, came to join them, arriving on the 'Chance'.
