He was convicted of stealing (pickpocket)and was sent to Australia on the Ship 'Hero' arriving in Sydney 1835.
At some stage his name becomes Christopher.
In 1835, Christopher is recorded with other convicts, for running away and being apprehended and returned to Mr. A S Trood.
Christopher married Charlotte Acres/Akers in 1849 at Goulburn N.S.W. In 1840, he received his Ticket of Leave and was allowed to remain in the Illawarra area.
Christopher in 1851 is a member of a committee in support of Henry Osborne nominating for parliament.
The N.S.W. Historical Electoral Rolls 1855-1856. show Christopher a Leaseholder on the Peterborough Estate.
In 1856, Christopher was on another committee to support Mr. Jenkins for parliament.
In 1859, Christopher signed a petition for the formation of the municipality of Shellharbour.
Christopher also donated 10 shillings towards the collection for John Priaux who had his arm torn off in a threshing machine.
In 1859, Christopher supported Patrick Collins and William James for a position on the Shellharbour Council.
