NameYoullDescriptionRichard Colin Grant Youll was born in Tamworth in 1900. The family moved to Dulwich Hill in 1903 where his father worked as a headmaster.

Richard worked in the dairy industry for several years at Kangaroo Valley after leaving school.

In 1923 he purchased 'Swansea' farm, Croom Road, Albion Park. The farm was originally built by David Timbs. The Youll family lived here for 52 years.

In 1925 Richard married Annie Guthrey and they had three boys; John, Donald and Edwin.

The Youll Memorial Shield, an initiative of the Albion Park Show Society, was established in remembrance of Donald Youll, who died from cancer aged just 27 years. The memorial shield was presented for 45 consecutive years at the Show.

Richard Youll contributed much to the dairy industry in Shellharbour. He was secretary of the Agricultural Bureau in the 1930's and secretary of the Albion Park Branch of the Primary Producers Union. Richard was active in the Albion Park Agricultural, Horticultural and Industrial Society.

Richard was foundation secretary of the Milk Zone Dairyman's Council and director of Dairy Farmers Cooperative Society.

During the war years, Richard was a member of the Voluntary Defence Corps and a local warden.
